Fountains

This is a 'totally radical' spot for Stimorol Gum. We have just finished filming a viral involving fountains, its a completely different concept but hopefully will turn out to look just as good as this one. Will post it once all the editing is done and dusted.

Subliminal Advertising

Now im sure a fair few of you have seen this before. However i have only just come across it on youtube and feel that its worthy of a post. The video is an experiment set up by magician Derren Brown to prove that anyone can be susceptible to subliminal advertising. He proves his point in excellent fashion by hiring and subconsciously tricking two creatives from MBA Advertising. Its a really interesting and thought provoking experiment. I think creatives could take allot from this experiment. It shows how the mind is always subconsciously working and taking note of everything around you. I would love to see someone take a technique like this and turn it into one big campaign. Maybe one for the book.

Copywriting on a saturday?

After a few months on the placement circuit its finally time to go back to university. To be honest im actually looking forward to going back. Not sure why? Maybe its the ability to lay in, the female fashion students, or the exiting briefs! I don't know? but I'm exited! However, for some reason, after all the money we pay to study we only have one lesson a week! So i have made it a mission of mine to get as much out of our last year as possible. This means signing up to all the free extra classes and stealing as much stationary as possible! One extra class that we were really interested in is the copywriting course. We have yet to declare who is the copywriter and who is the art director but thought there would be no harm in both of us having copy skills. The only catch being that this free class falls on a saturday and lasts for ten weeks! We are going to see how long we can last with out soccer saturday and how interesting the class is. Will keep you updated.

Too much chocolate?

Had a week off work and Uni so in between watching Loose Women and Neighbors i have been browsing the blog's. Whilst on my browsing voyage i stumbled upon this! Its a poster for the 'Roy awards'. Apparently the awards ceremony is one of Sweden's most prestigious advertising events. The poster features the now iconic Cadburys Gorilla chucking up its guts. The poster concludes with the line: "Roy: Great advertising and open bar". Now at first glimpse i thought, oh no not another gorilla parody. However, in this case it really does work. Great way of promoting the event - 'open bar'. Open bar being the main focal point of the event gives a great insight into the adverting industry. Hopefully some day soon i mite be able to experience me one of these open bars!
