Saturday is breakfast day

I posted the new spot for Lurpak the other day and complimented them on their achievements. Little was i to know what sort of effect the campaign was to have on me. After checking out the TV spot and the print executions i inherited a serious craving for eggs. This craving didn't just stop at Saturday mornings. For the past three days i have had eggs for either breakfast or dinner and have grown concerned that the craving will never go away. Would be intersting to find out if the campaign has has the same, if not similar, effect on anybody else. I put it down to the mouth watering photography and the simple but sophisticated directing of the commercial. Damn you W+K and your amazing advertising skills!

The proof is in the pudding. Bet you want an egg now eh? Have yet to have boiled eggs actually, save that for tomorrow.

Here is my attempt at poached eggs. So nice.
Copy Cats at large again!
We all know that agencies love to rip off creative peoples videos from YouTube. Most recently two of the biggest campaigns - T-mobile's 'flash-mobbing' and Cadbury's 'Eyebrow dancing'. However, this example really takes the biscuit. A masterful piece for a skater shoe company directed by Spike Jonze has been well and truly ripped off by BBDO Mexico to promote the brand Snickers. Absolute joke! When will this blatant plagiarism cease?

Minilogue - Animals from R.fm on Vimeo.
We have recently been using Vimeo for a current project. The website is awesome and the majority of work on there is cool. Here is one of our favorites that we found whilst surfing the site. The soundtrack is sweeet as-well. Enjoy.

Let us pay tribute to the first ever viral!
Just watched a cool presentation on itunes by Tony Davidson of W+K. In the presentation he claims that the dancing baby was the first ever viral and was the inspiration behind his Flat Eric dancing puppet for Levis. Cool.

Successful ambient

Its difficult these days to create an interesting and intriguing piece of ambient advertising that doesn't feel contrived or 'done'. However this from ad from JWT for Rimmel works well. It's advertising a fast drying nail polish. Not only is the idea strong but its an interesting spectacle. This image shows the advert in situation and the girls reactions in the photograph proves that it works.
Freakin sweet

I have to buy this mug. I have lost count of the times i have spilt cups of tea trying to balance biscuits and numerous cups of teas. Great invention. Why haven't we seen these in the shops? However this cup seems to only hold two or three digestive's. This wouldn't be very useful to a friend of mine who gained legendary status by going through a whole mug of tea without drinking a drop - he soaked it all up using jammy dodgers!

House of cards
Here's a new commercial for Shelter. We have been fortunate enough to work on a Shelter brief and can appreciate how difficult it is to find and interesting insight. However the guys from Leo Burnett have succeeded in doing so. Great ad, and great end article. The advert is set to Radiohead’s song - 'Videotape'. This ad marks the first occasion that the band have allowed their music to be used in a commercial.
Little late, but too cool not to post
The NFL Superbowl has been and gone, as have the much publicised and anticipated commercials that come along with the Superbowl circus. In my opinion this years Superbowl adverts left much to be desired and certainly didn't have the same impact as past Superbowl commercials. Here is a compilation of Virals that surfaced prior to the Superbowl. In the clips the American Football stars film home videos showing off their credentials in order to convince you, the viewer, that you should pick them for your fantasy football league. Cool eh? Enjoy!
Have a break

Love this new website from KitKat. Simple idea, but works. They could complicate it by making it interactive but then the idea would be lost. Like it. Try it yourself and have a little break here.
Tic Tactical viral!
A couple of weeks ago arch Everton welcomed their arch rivals Liverpool to Goodison Park for a mouth watering FA Cup match. The specticle didnt dissapoint, the game was full of contriversy and last gasp goals. However main contraversial highlight was becaus eof ITV's stupidity. They switched to adverts including the new VW ad and a Tic Tac advert 10 seconds before Everton scored the wining goal in added time of extra time. ITV's mistake caused uproar and made front page news. (watch the footage above)
However what was a massive disappointment has led to a clever and prompt Viral ad from Tic Tac. Although the final outcome is a bit shabby and looks a bit like a homemade attempt, it still contains the core idea and is a cool little tactical advert. So thank yuo Tic Tac for making up for ITV's stupidty. Enjoy.
Goodbye essays, hello... erm...?

So, i'm back. The dissertation that has plagued my life for the past three months is finally over! Hence the over exuberant celebratory image. Now all that logical malarky is over its back to the wonderful world of creativity. I have a few posts up my sleeve so to my one and only dedicated reader - stay tuned!
